Air conditioning and refrigeration have become necessary in modern life, accounting for more than 7.8% of greenhouse gases (GHG) emitted globally. Reducing the environmental impact these systems is crucial meeting global GHG emission targets. Two principal directions must be considered to reduce air systems. Firstly, reducing direct effect by looking at less harmful refrigerants secondly, indirect searching options improve system efficiency. This study presents latest developments vapor compression cycle natural refrigerants, focusing on water as a refrigerant. Natural especially water, could ultimate solution problems associated with operation (VCC) cooling systems, including ozone depletion (OD) warming (GW). building essential, recent improvements made enhance coefficient performance (COP) are thoroughly discussed this paper. Though work essential increase efficiency, they still need solve refrigerants. Accordingly, paper suggests that most suitable strategic choice replace current industry. Finally, reviews VCC order guide interested researchers solutions may suggest future research areas.
